East Bay Barbeque is a great underground eatery, serving food almost every Sunday in an Oakland backyard. Sam is the cook extraordinaire.

People gather in the afternoon, and hang out. Talking, drinking, and eventually the food comes out.

The classic Smoked Pulled Pork Sammies are served every week. These are how I originally got hooked...

when Sam and Jerry were selling the Pulled Pork Sammies at the Oakland Art Murmur.

But lately there's been some kickass contenders on the menu. Especially the Grilled Chicken Sandwiches.

On perfectly charred buns.

And roughage, of course.

It's great food, and great people. If you want to go, just email the boys at ebbarbeque@gmail.com to get on the list and find out the where/when.
(by the way, can you spot the INNA pickles on the table?)
You make me want to move back to the Bay Area.
